Q
How much data does it take to listen to an audiobook on my smartphone?
A
This is a tricky question to answer because audiobook titles vary in size. If you're streaming an audiobook, we suggest having at least 150MB of bandwidth. If you're downloading the audiobook to your iPhone or Android smartphone, it's best to have at least 500MB of bandwidth free.
Q
Why is this book unavailable to me?
A
When publishers get the rights to books, they may only get them to distribute in certain countries. We have to honour that distribution deal, meaning some books will be regionally restricted. If it were up to us, all audiobooks would be available worldwide!
Q
What are LibriVox audiobooks and why are they all the same price?
A
LibriVox volunteers record chapters of books that are in the public domain and release the audiobooks onto the net for free. LibriVox readers are free to choose the books they wish to record. LibriVox sees itself as a library of audiobooks. Because the books are in the public domain, readers and listeners should be aware that many of them are very old, and may contain language or express notions that are antiquated at best, offending at worst. Audiobooks NZ has no control over the audio quality of these books. To bring these audiobooks to you through our system, Audiobooks NZ must charge a small admin fee. Please note: Audiobooks NZ does not profit from the sale of these free audiobooks.
Q
How do I delete my account?
A
Simply log a support ticket with the subject line Delete Account or email support@audiobooksnz.co.nz.
Please note: If you delete your account you will no longer have access to your audiobooks. Your best option is to cancel your monthly subscription but leave your account open.
